Alternative to Instapaper
Read it later. Archive it forever.
Clean reading meets permanent content preservation.
Instapaper is a beloved read-it-later app, but it only saves a text extract of the page — the original layout, images, and interactive elements are lost. Backdrop gives you the same clean reading experience, but also preserves the complete page in HTML, PDF, and screenshot formats so you never lose the original context.
Why users leave Instapaper
Read-it-later only — saves a text extract, not the original page.
No permanent archival — no guarantee saved content remains accessible.
No screenshot or PDF capture options.
No annotations or highlighting features.
Limited organization — folders only, no tags or nested collections.
